The greenhouse
A popular trail for Torontonians, the Edwards Garden Trail is a peaceful trail in the city with a well kempt asphalt surface. The trail includes various bridges and follows a river along the route. The trail is particularly worthwhile during the spring and summer, where a trail-goer can see a variety of intricate floral displays, as well as landmarks such as a fountain. However, in the colder months, one can see plants in a greenhouse located near the entrance of the trail.

A well maintained trail surface
Walking on a weekend afternoon in March, we passed a few families walking along the trail, but the colder weather meant the trail was relatively open. In the spring and summer, the trail can become somewhat crowded with people hoping to see the flower displays. The asphalt trail surface was in good condition; however, the runoff from the last traces of snow on the ground meant some wet mud covered some sections of the trail.

I particularly enjoyed the collection of bridges spanning the river along the trail, as well as the plant displays along the entrance of the trail. Unfortunately, the trail itself is very short, but connects directly to Wilket Creek Trail if a longer walking distance is desired.

The trail includes a few rules, as listed below:
-no dogs or pets
-no bicycle riding
-no rollerblading
-no skateboarding
-no picknicking
-no sports activities
-no feeding wildlife
-no BBQs or fires
-no picking flowers

This trail is particularly suited for walkers who are looking for a pleasant, easy trail experience.
