If you are looking for a great biking trail, then Villaways Park Trail is definitely the place to visit. The park is composed of 7 different biking trails, offering a variety of route choices that the biker can bike on. The trail is also located right on the East Don River, offering a great view of the riverbank and water. Unlike some of the parks that are located closer to a neighbourhood, Villaway appears to be more connected with nature, having a lot of wild grass and cattails growing around the area. This trail is definitely more advanced and longer, so I think that it is very good for people who really want to immerse themselves in nature, and those who want to take long hikes or bikes. The trail itself is very well-maintained, despite being so close to the ravine and river.
There are also a few bridges on the trail, located right above the East Don River, and they provide a great view of the water and the surrounding scenery.
The trail is fairly long, and there are many forks in the trail, providing many different paths for hikers and bikers to take. Since the park is fairly large, I suggest for people to bring a bike to enjoy the trail if they are not prepared to walk for a long distance. It was a shame that we walked this trail in the late winter, as I believe that it would have looked nicer during the spring and summer months when trees and plants begin to flourish. This trail is a great opportunity for hikers and bikers who wish to take an escape from the city life and enjoy a long trail to visit.
